What's free, and what costs something
Your recipes, adding and editing them, importing from recipe websites, hands-free cooking mode and timers, groceries, meal plans and sharing are free, always. Every recipe you make with the chef stays yours.
The robot chef (the AI) runs on computers we pay for every time it thinks, so it needs Heartless Chef Pro or credits.
Credits
- 1 credit = 1 recipe, fix or answer. When the chef asks you something first ("spicy or mild?"), that's free.
- Credits never expire.
- New iPhones get 15 free credits to try the chef, once per iPhone.
- If you have Pro, your credits are only used if you go past Pro's allowance (60 uses of the chef a day, 600 a month).
Restoring purchases
- Credits come back on their own when you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account. Open Settings, then Credits, to check.
- Pro: open Settings, tap Heartless Chef Pro, then Restore Purchases.
Managing or cancelling Pro
On your iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Heartless Chef Pro. You can switch between monthly and yearly or cancel there; Pro keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
Refunds
Apple handles payments, so refunds go through Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and choose the purchase.
The chef's tone
You can change how the chef talks in the app: Settings, then Your Chef, then Tone. Choose Friendly, Just the facts, Sassy or Heartless. The Heartless chef swears, so the app checks with you before switching it on.
